oh what fun,
Lucia turned ONE!
What an accomplishment it is to turn one. Not only for this sweet little child, but also for you guys as the parents. When a child turns one, so much growing up took place for that little one, but during their growing up, parents also grew. You learn to look at the world in such a new perspective. As your little baby learns the world, you relearn it yourself. You notice things that you quickly forgot about or grew out of. You learned to take a moment and breathe in that sweet baby smell because as long as the days (and nights) may seem, the year sure goes by quick and you want to savor every lasting moment.
the theme
The theme behind this happy little girl’s photoshoot is rainbow (as you can tell by her adorable tutu and ONE sign). The reasoning is because this little girl is a rainbow baby. If you don’t know what a rainbow baby is, it is a blessing you receive from God after you go through the unimaginable. Rainbow babies are the babies that are born after a miscarriage.
So while it is so easy to wonder what you would have had, there is also some piece given back to you when you look into this sweet child’s eyes because without that sadness, this great joy wouldn’t have been there.
Also, what are the chances that this girl’s first birthday happens to fall on Easter Sunday too!? She got to celebrate her first birthday AND her last first major holiday all on the same day. So of course we had to add some Easter eggs and spring flowers in the pictures.
Just when you think you know love,
something little comes along to remind you just how big it really is.
bring on the cake
This little cutie was too funny when it came to trying cake for the first time. Lucia was a perfect lady and didn’t want to get cake all over her hands and tutu so she used her tiny finger to take a sample of the cake, and needless to say, was not impressed by the cake what so ever. haha
She thought about giving it one more shot, and then decided…NOPE southafrica-ed.com! Not for me, but I wouldn’t mind trying that walking thing out. And guess what she did? She took 11 steps! Can’t wait to see all the amazing things you continue to do this year Miss Lucia!
